Yet again, another delay. I blame my hubby. He had the weekend off and we ended up having loads of adventures. Ah, well, it was fun. c:

Thursday I ended up throwing a salad together for lunch. Baby spinach, oil and vinegar, feta, pine nuts, tomatos, and salami. Yuuuuum. I went and picked apples for an hour and brought a few dozen to my women’s group. I had an apple and was almost overwhelmed by the sweetness. Wow. So damn good. I had a slice of my flognarde as well.

day 33, 149 lbs

Back to trying to, mostly, update every day. Right! Okay! 😀

Yesterday was a very peculiar day. I picked up hubby from work at 6:30 am and grabbed his friend. We went out to breakfast, where I ate an omelette the size of a small house and three pieces of bacon. I can’t make omelettes, so it is always a treat when I get one. I’m not a bad cook, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do the flippy part. I’ve followed Jacques Pépin’s instructions, but every time I try they turn into crappy scrambled eggs. Ah, well, I just need to practise more. I guess.

I finished my playthrough on Dragon Age 2 with my hubby-clone-Hawke. My first complete male playthrough ever! Go me! 😀 Admittedly, it was much easier to commit when hubby wanted to see his doppleganger kick some ass. Also, the voice actor wasn’t terribad!

I had my remaining leftover burgers for lunch and then proceeded to fall asleep until this morning. I was completely beat. Hubby was a bit upset with me. He gets out of work and I spend all day snoring away… oops.

 

So, after a thirteen hour sleep, a nice shower and cuddles with Pooch, I made breakie! Breakfast was scrambled eggs and spinach, with a big shake of coffee and protein powder. 60g of protein in the shake, baby! OM NOM NOM.

 

I haven’t had lunch yet, still super full from breakfast, but I will probably have delicious animal flesh for dinner. Nomnomnom.

 

In other news, I now fit super comfortably into my size 7 jeans. This means I am down 2 pant sizes, and down to only two pairs of jeans that fit. I am trying to reach a 4 by the time school starts. I have until September 24th! Maybe I will take my measurements again next week. I am trying to avoid measuring myself daily, because it is awkward and I am lazy and it is a bit depressing. Also, I need a proper measuring tape. Trying to measure yourself with thread, then translate that accurately to a rigid measure is… difficult, to say the least.

I need to work on drinking WAY more water and taking photographs again. And maybe in another month, I’ll be able to take a progress photo… I *do* have befores, but I took them down about five minutes after posting them. Maybe when I have something awesome to compare them to, I’ll be able to post them…

Nearly a week has gone by since I even thought about my blog .Whoops! I got super, err, busy. Right. Busy.

…okay, I’m just lazy. So, recap time! Whee!

Friday night I had a gal-pal over for dinner and a movie. I made Sour Cream Pork Chops with grilled zucchini and onions. They turned out awesome! Sour Cream is such a useful, delicious item. It is probably my go-to for quick and easy dinners now. I had another one of my cupcakes, because I am a bad girl. ;D Then we went and saw The Dark Knight Rises. Gal-pal hadn’t seen it yet and we couldn’t have that. The movie was probably even better the second go round, to be honest. Probably because I didn’t have to pee through the last hour and a half.

day nineteen, 153 lbs

What a wonderful few days it has been! Tuesday night, hubby and I went to his mums place for dinner. It was very nice, not having to cook and having such a wonderful meal. I went over on my calories, sure, but it was an absolutely lovely meal and evening. Momma made spaghetti and red sauce for hubby and the others and a divine Caesar Salad (no croutons!) for me. I had some mozzarella and salami with it and it was delightful. The fresh bread was so tempting… but I stayed strong! I kept chanting in my brain “carbs are gross, carbs are gross”. Eventually I will start to believe this!

She made a wonderful keto cheesecake dessert for me. The jam preserve definitely has too much sugar, but it was a nice treat. She gave me the left over ones, so at least I can scrape the blackberry jam off the top and enjoy them at home. Mmmm, cream cheese…. yum!

I went over my limit again on Wednesday, but I was absolutely ravenous. Not sure where this hunger came from, but I was only over by like… 200 calories at least. For breakfast I had bacon, fried eggs, and some protein powder in my coffee. I nibbled on some celery and peanut butter on the side, as well. Yum!  Read the rest of this entry

day ten, 158 lbs!!

So, I’ve been out of action for a bit. Friday was the first time eating out on Keto! Needless to say, I kicked ass. We went out to Silver City with the family and a friend. I had a HUGE dinner, but it was totally worth it. :] I had a steak with green beans and roasted garlic, with some coffee and the scraped off toppings of their flatbread. Yum!

Saturday was moving day for my Mother-in-law! I made chorizo and eggs for five. The others had toast, I had coffee. Keto has gotten me hooked on coffee. Especially with my liquid stevia that tastes like toffee… oh my goodness it is crazy delicious. How have I lived without this?!

The move went smoothly enough (though the apartment complex is staffed by jerks) and I made Pork Florentine for dinner. The boys had pasta alfredo on the side and I had massive quantities of spinach. Spinach is amazing!

Saturday night, my husband’s former recruiter arrived from California. He’s returning to the Nimitz after a tour in Afghanistan. Unfortunately, hubby had duty on Sunday so it was just me and the buddy. We went out to Trapper’s Sushi, where I was strong! So strong! I had a rather lot of sashimi and a handroll with minimum rice. It was pretty damn delicious, though I was CRAVING the tempura rolls like crazy. :[

Sunday evening I reheated the last of my No Shell Taco Salad and made home made pizza rolls for the buddy. I had one, but each has 4 grams of net carbs and I didn’t trust myself to have restraint. :[

Yesterday was Monday! Monday was good, actually. I overate like crazy at lunch, easily eating a pound of super fatty pork chops and a giant salad. Hubby was a bit upset that I didn’t have dinner, but I was stuffed. We took Pooch to the Waterfront, which he loved. He got to run around and be pet by loads of people. He’s such an attention whore. 😛 Some friends came over for dinner, so I threw some steaks on the grill and my home-girl made mac and cheese for the boys. Home-girl is more Paleo than Keto, but she also abhors carbs. I am not alone~~~! We settled down with Pooch and watched Top Gear while the boys played Magic. It was a most enjoyable evening. :]

Now, finally, we reach today! Today is TUESDAY! I broke my fast around two o clock with Eggplant Lasagna.

Eggplant, Squash, Parmesan, Mozzarella, and Pepperoni

It was scrumptious! 10 net carbs per serving, but 15.43 g of protein and 21 g of fat. :] I was craving pasta, so this seemed like an awesome substitute. No squash next time, though. So many carbs!!

Hubby and I are going to a friends for dinner tonight for some low country cooking. Said homie will, hopefully, make me a portion that doesn’t have potatoes and corn. He’s pretty understanding, and a kick ass cook, so I will keep my portion sizes low and hopefully stay in ketosis.

Now, to drink more water!

day four, still unweighed

I am horrifically lazy. I think I have a scale in my car, but I fail to bring it out and into the house. Also, I kind of don’t want to know how much I weigh. Tomorrow, I tell myself, tomorrow I will bring out the scale…

Today, however, I have had quite the wonderful day! Food wise, at least. Hubby has duty and I’m bored. And I have the Warrior Workout tonight. :[ I am going to hurt so baaaaad. I need to hydrate more…

Breakfast was a shake! Protein powder, spinach, soy milk, coconut oil, peanut butter and unsweetened cocoa. Yum!

Lunch was reheated No-Shell Taco Salad with a side of bacon wrapped brussel sprouts. Holy shit, I actually like brussel sprouts now. Too bad I burned the ever loving fuck out of my mouth because I was impatient.

Surprisingly still awesome after being reheated in the microwave from frozen.

Dinner is yet to come! I’ll figure it out. Pretty much out of carbs, so possibly just fuck tons of bacon.

Gotta keep hydrating. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate…

day three, unweighed

Good evening non-existent readers! Today was a pretty good day. :] I had lots of errands to run, namely getting canisters for my dry goods and some final ingredients for my homemade facial cleanser. Wal-Mart and Walgreens were out of Ketostix, unfortunately. I did pick up a nice water bottle and some various knick-knacks, though. And Maxx Nutrition, despite the obnoxious name, is a Ketoers paradise! A whole section of low-carb sweeteners, low carb power bars, low carb cook books, etc. I picked up some vanilla and toffee flavored liquid stevia for coffee and Xylitol for Cream Cheese Pancakes. Omnomnom.

Breakfast was half a left over zucchini pizza with some mashed cauliflower, and pepperoni. Yum! Ate again around one, made some No Shell Taco Salad and froze the leftovers. Ate a bit more than I wanted to, but I was super hungry. Also, it was amazing.

I made some Asian Pork in the slow cooker. It was incredible! Very flavorful and delicious. I served it with a side of spicy spinach.

So god damn delicious holy shit

I’ve noticed that Keto forces me to cook more creatively. I have always loved cooking, but being denied the former staples of my diet (bread, pasta, potatoes, etc) forces me to be inventive. Apparently when I am inventive, I am also incredibly delicious. Fuck yeah.
